Lysander spending, revenues down
11/20/09 Lysander officials approved the $4.69 million town budget for 2010 Thursday Nov. 19, which decreases overall spending by $289,000 from the 2009 budget. With approximately 9,000 parcels in the town, the tax levy (amount to be raised through property taxes) is $2,366,754. The overall tax rate increased from 1.703 in 2009 to 1.795 in 2010. This breaks down to a .7974 general tax rate (an increase of .0873 from 2009), a .0845 part-town tax rate (an increase of .0285 from 2009) and a .09131 highway tax rate (a decrease of .0235 from 2009). The tax rate means for every $1,000 of assessed value for property owned in Lysander, the taxpayer would pay $1.80...
