ABOUT THE SONGWRITERS
Maura Kennedy was born Maura Boudreau in Syracuse, home of a fantastic live, original music scene when she was a teenager. In her formative years she played bass guitar in punk and heavy metal bands, keyboards and acoustic guitar in a British folk-rock band, and guitar and mandolin in a roots-rock band. In 1993, she and her now-husband, Pete Kennedy, joined Nanci Griffith's backup band (The Blue Moon Orchestra) on a two-month world tour.

When that tour was over, Pete and Maura struck out on their own as the Kennedys, and have been performing, writing, and recording ever since. Their tenth duo album, Better Dreams, was released in January. Maura performed
solo for the first time in the fall of 2008 and is finishing her debut solo CD. myspace.com/MauraKennedy

Emily Arin is a Los Angeles native who recently migrated to a small town in Schuyler County, New York, with the goal of diving deeper into the craft of songwriting. A recent article published in the Ithaca Journal says that Arin "writes with profound emotional intimacy and honesty and has an exquisite voice to boot. Her talent is on par with early Gillian Welch, Jana Hunter, and Nina Nastasia."
