Rolling Hills of Bluegrass Americana

The First Annual Folk Gathering Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 at The Music Barn at Kellish Farm, 3192 Pompey Center Road, Pompey. At the Folk Gathering, a donation of $10 per person will be requested to pay the bands and to help defray the costs for the farm owners, Kathy Kellish and Rich Harding. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Car pooling is strongly suggested as parking on the farm is limited. There will be informal acoustic jamming going on throughout the day, on the lodge back porch and maybe over at the gazebo. Performing with vocalist and guitarist Larry Hoyt will be bassist Dave Goldman and mandolinist/vocalist Ed Van Cott.
Here's the schedule for the Folk Gathering:
11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. - Sing Along Song Circle with Hani Khouri of the Salt City Song Miners & Larry Hoyt & others
12:30 to 1:30 p.m. - Off the Wall - old-tyme fiddlin'
1:45 to 2:45 p.m. - the NY-Tenn Border trio - blues, roots and folk
3 to 4 p.m. - Very Excellent Folk Trio - folk, from trad to John Denver
4:15 to 5:15 p.m. - Folkstrings - from The Kingston Trio to Tom Paxton
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. - Larry Hoyt & the Good Acoustics - country & folk; from the songs of Johnny Cash to Larry Hoyt originals
6:45 to 7:45 p.m. - "All-Star" Jam
8 to 10 p.m. - country dance with Harvey Nusbaum's Salt Potatoes
