Blood donations needed

Blood inventory is at a less than three-day supply level, according to the American Red Cross. Today, Assemblyman Will Barclay urged eligible people to donate blood to help save lives.
“The summer months are typically difficult for the Red Cross as donations tend to dip. However, the need still remains critical and strong,” said Barclay.
Certain blood types are at lower levels than others. Below are some of the locations where people can donate blood throughout the next month. To view a complete list of upcoming donation sites, visit donatebloodnow.org/donateblood.

In Onondaga County:

Wednesday, July 30, Skaneateles Community Center, 97 State St., Skaneateles, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 1, St. St Elizabeth Ann Seton, 3494 State Route 31, Baldwinsville, 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 4, Clay Volunteer Fire Department, Route 31, Clay, 2 to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 16, Northside Baptist Church, 7965 Oswego Road, Liverpool, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 18, St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Corner Hindsdale & W. Genesee Camillus, 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 22, Borodino Fire Department, 2500 Nunnery Road, Skaneateles, 3 to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 23, Belgium Cold Springs Fire Department 1, 7920 W. River Road, Baldwinsville, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
