COE reports Maffei bringing Green Recovery Package to Syracuse

Congressman Dan Maffei met with researchers Amy Sauer and Colin Fuss, both of SyracuseCoE(Centers for Excellence) Platinum Partner Syracuse University's L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science, when he toured a SyracuseCoE-affiliated laboratories that conduct research and demonstration projects in indoor environmental quality, clean and renewable energy and also water resources.

Maffei said at his Feb. 18 press conference, how provisions targeting innovative research in green and clean technology, investment in work force development, and improvements in the energy efficiency of public buildings and housing could benefit SyracuseCoE partner firms and institutions and Central Upstate New York.

"SyracuseCoE works with several local organizations, colleges, and labor groups to train green economy workers to provide the kind of workforce green and clean tech companies are looking for, making them a natural collaborator with whom to discuss the energy and infrastructure provisions in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act," Maffei said
