Due to the number of potential competitors, the registration deadline for Baldwinsville’s Fall Carp Classic has been extended one additional week through Thursday Oct. 8.

“We want to ensure that everyone who has expressed an interest in competing has a chance to participate,” said Jake McKenna, tournament committee member and co-owner of tournament sponsor The Red Mill Inn.

Baldwinsville has rapidly become recognized throughout the US, Japan, France and the UK for its shear number of healthy, hard-fighting carp with 14-17 tons of carp recorded in each of their three previous 50-hour regional events held in May.

Fall Carp Classic registration takes place at the Red Mill Inn Thursday Oct. 24 followed by competition from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday Oct. 25 and Saturday Oct. 26. Team registration is $500. With 25 teams in place, prizes include $6,500 for team total Big Four and a $1,000 Big Fish Award.

The 25 teams would be randomly divided into five-team groups with an additional $500 awarded for each group’s total Big Four. If that isn’t enough to tug on your line, B-ville will hand over $25,000 for a team total Big Four Weight exceeding 140 pounds.
