Continuing its solid start to the season, the Liverpool boys swim team had no problem in its last meet of 2009, ripping Utica Proctor 103-64 last Tuesday night.
As the starting point, the Warriors won the 200 medley relay as Brandon Frush, Joe Hens, Cory Spado and Tom Schmid prevailed in a time of 1:54.18.
Joe Hens came right back to win the 200 individual medley (2:22.39), while Dan Hens swam the 100 freestyle in 56.95 seconds and Frush won the 100 backstroke in 1:13.63.
Elsewhere, Alex Coleman-Gridley earned first place in the 200 freestyle (2:02.85), with Alex Perfitt taking the 50 freestyle (24.05 seconds), Phil MacLeod winning the 100 butterfly (1:04.69) and Shane Donovan putting up a time of 5:28.87 in the 500 freestyle.
Cicero-North Syracuse's pre-holiday blitz continued on Dec. 18 with its own visit to Utica Proctor and a 93-74 victory over the Raiders.
Paul LaRosa succeeded early, as he took the 200 individual medley (2:30.18) after teaming with Josh DeSimone, Kyle Sager and Cory Whalen to swim the 200 medley relay in 2:01.85.
Billy Werksman put together a top diving score of 205.50 points and helped Ben Mozo, Ricky Blackburn and Tyler Fornito win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:49.63.
DeSimone earned his own victory in the 100 backstroke (1:07.62) as Blaise Maio worked his way to first place in the 50 freestyle in 25.99 seconds.
Three days later, the Northstars lost to Fayetteville-Manlius 96-79 at the Nottingham High School pool.
Werksman again won in diving, earning 196 points. LaRosa, Mozo, Maio and James Fisher would take the 400 freestyle relay in 4:06.26. Otherwise, F-M won every race, with Kevin Koh (50 freestyle, 100 butterfly), Jack Robinson (200 individual medley, 100 backstroke) and Zach Swanson (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle) each winning twice.
