Cicero reassessment project update: Data collection to begin

Staff 08/24/09More articles
The first phase of the reassessment project will begin the week of Aug. 31 with the start of the data collection/verification process. GAR data collectors will begin in the northern portion of the town. More specifically, GAR data collectors will be located in the area bounded by the Clay town line to the west, Mud Mill Road to the south, Beach Road to the east and the Oswego County line to the north. Upon completion of this area, collectors will continue to move in a south and east progression, and cover all areas north of Route 31. A weekly report on progress will be posted on the town of Cicero Web page at ciceronewyork.com so that property owners are kept informed.
To ensure that your privacy is protected, GAR data collectors will not collect any inventory if there is no one at home, or the owner has not given prior consent to enter the property in their absence.
Since accurate data is critical to the overall success of this project, GAR staff will leave a door hanger at your property requesting authorization to return for a second visit to complete their exterior inspection in your absence, or to schedule an appointment for the second visit to the property while there is someone at home. Exterior measurements and photographs of the property will be taken at that time.
ALL GAR STAFF WILL HAVE PROPER IDENTIFICATION ON THEM DURING FIELD INSPECTIONS. The town assessment office, clerk and local police agencies will have a vehicle list of all project staff members.
The data collection process will continue through June 2010.
