The International Boxing Hall of Fame is continuing to celebrate its 20th anniversary by offering free admission to visitors on Halloween weekend Saturday Oct. 31 and Sunday Nov. 1.
“As we continue to celebrate our landmark 20th anniversary, we are excited to say ‘thank you’ to boxing fans by offering free admission over the Halloween weekend,” said Edward Brophy, Hall of Fame Executive Director.
Boxing fans visiting the Hall during the designated dates will have the opportunity tour the museum and enjoy the many exhibits on boxing history.
The Hall of Fame chronicles the history of the sport with exciting and educational exhibits highlighting fight worn memorabilia, photos, fight tickets, posters, championship belts, fist castings and more. The Hall of Fame Wall features photographs and biographies of all inductees.
There are also video units playing boxing action from the turn of the century to the present day and the world famous Madison Square Garden boxing ring is on permanent display.
A not-for-profit organization, the International Boxing Hall of Fame opened to the public in 1989 in Canastota and is located at Exit 34 of the New York State Thruway. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
