The Lifelong Learning Program in Hamilton recently announced three upcoming classes, starting on the last day of October.
“Meditation as Medicine” will be led by Dr. Mark J. Sicherman, a physician and psychotherapist who has studied and taught meditation for over thirty years. Sessions will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday mornings Oct. 31, Nov. 7, Nov. 14 and Nov. 21 at the Hamilton Public Library. During these sessions, participants will learn a basic meditative technique which they can apply to their own individual needs
For those interested in photography, Dr. Joachim Homann, curator, Picker Art Gallery, Colgate University, will offer a one-time session entitled “Remember? Photographs before Digitation.” The class will be held at the Picker Gallery from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 3. The Gallery is housed on the second floor of the Charles A. Dana Arts Center. Parking is available on Lally Lane near the traffic light at the corner of Broad (Route 12B) and College Streets.
Finally, from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday Nov. 5, Elizabeth Douglas will hold a class at the Hamilton Public Library on “Publishing Your Book.” Students will learn everything they need to know about publishing, including analyzing a book idea for the market, doing a sales-oriented book proposal, getting a literary agent, and negotiating the contract.
