Lebanon to honor veterans

Tina M. Finneyfrock 11/05/09More articles
The Lebanon Historical Society is proud to host a Veteran’s Day potluck supper and memorial ceremony on Sunday Nov. 15. During the Bicentennial, two years ago, a similar program was very well received and now that the Lebanon Historical Society is up and running, we would like to make this an annual event.

A ceremony of reading the names of all war veterans of Lebanon will begin at the Lebanon Valley Cemetery at 1 p.m. and conclude by laying a wreath. Veterans will be recognized from the Revolutionary period to the present. Afterwards, the community is invited to the Lebanon Community Club for a potluck dinner. During that time, we hope residents would share memories of the town’s veterans. Penny Hughes will give a short talk about where the LHS stands in its efforts to care for town cemeteries and she will also have historical artifacts and pictures of town veterans on display. Please bring hot or cold dishes to pass and serving utensils. Dessert and beverages will be provided.

Please join together as a community to remember and honor Lebanon’s brave veterans.
