In June 2009, Dan Graham received his doctor of philosophy in psychology and social behavior from the University of California, Irvine. He graduated with a concentration in Health Psychology with research focusing on the determinants of physical activity behavior among adolescents. Dan was the recipient of the Ellen Greenberger Award for Excellence in Doctoral Research and has authored and co-authored several research publications. Dan also holds a master of arts degree in Social Ecology from UC Irvine and he received his bachelor of arts degree in Psychology and Mathematics from Providence College, where he graduated summa cum laude. He is the son of Carol and John Graham of Camillus and a 1999 graduate of West Genesee High School. Dan is now working as a Research Associate at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in the Obesity Prevention Center, Department of Epidemiology and Community Health, and is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minn.
Rachel (Lucas-Thompson) Graham received her Doctor of Philosophy in psychology from the University of California, Irvine in July 2009. She graduated with a concentration in developmental psychology and was the recipient of multiple awards from UCI as well as from the American Psychological Association, the American Psychological Foundation, and the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues. She was also a predoctoral fellow for the National Institute of Mental Health, and has co-authored several research publications. Rachel also holds a Master of Arts degree in Social Ecology from UC Irvine. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Beloit College, where she graduated summa cum laude. She is the daughter of proud parents Martha Thompson and Jim Lucas of Chicago, Ill. Rachel has just begun a tenure-track position at Macalester College in St. Paul where she will teach and conduct research on the influence of family environment on child and adolescent development.
