Falling tree takes Liverpool man’s life

Star-Review 11/22/09More articles
A Liverpool man died in the afternoon Nov. 21 afternoon after being struck by a falling tree that he was cutting down, according to Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh.

Lynn M. Perry, 67, of 155 Sun Harbor Dr., Liverpool, was found unconscious and unresponsive by a family member at about 12:11 p.m. Saturday Nov. 21. Perry was home along at the time of incident but evidence at the scene suggest that Perry was utilizing a chain saw to cut down a tree when the tree fell back onto him, killing him.

Members of the Liverpool Fire Department also responded to the scene where they were able to remove the tree off of Perry, who suffered a traumatic upper body injury. Perry was then transported to University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
