A percentage of the cost of materials purchased at any Barnes and Noble store on that day will be donated to the library. The more supporters spend, the higher the percentage donated to the library. Café purchases are also included in the bookfair total, but the purchase of gift cards, Barnes and Noble memberships, text books and magazine subscriptions are not.
Customers shopping on that day must tell the cashier when checking out that their purchases are in support of the Baldwinsville Public Library, or present a voucher, which are available in the library.
As an added attraction for customers on that day, the library has scheduled the following entertainment:
- 10 to 10:30 a.m. “Children’s Story Time” with Wayne Mahar, chief meteorologist of WSTM Channel 3, WTVH Channel 5, and CW-6 TV
3 to 3:30 p.m. Performance by Baker High School’s “Silk and Satin Vocal Jazz Ensemble”
7 to 7:30 p.m. Soprano Elisabeth Kisselstein and Pianist Nancy James Performing “A Literary Caberet”
A wish list of items that the library would like to own will be displayed for those wishing to purchase them directly as donations to the library. Free gift-wrapping sponsored by Barnes & Noble will also be available during the day, with any voluntary contributions going to the library.
