Holiday `Strings in the Stacks’ holds encore in pews

Staff Reports 12/01/09
Maxwell Memorial Library’s Strings in the Stacks series will once again move to the pews of Camillus First United Methodist Church for a holiday performance at 7:30 p.m. Thursday Dec. 10. The concert is free and open to the public.
Violinists Michael and Jennifer Montero, owners of The String Corner in the village, will be taking their popular library concert series across Leroy Street to the Methodist sanctuary to accommodate a larger audience. A crowd of 112 attended last year’s concert, the first time that the church, the Monteros, and the library collaborated in such a way.
The selections will combine traditional and classical selections by Faure, Raff, Telemann, Reiding and others. Accompanying Michael and Jennifer on some selections will be pianist Cindy Josbena of Mexico, NY.
It is also the second year that the Maxwell Library board of trustees has coordinated its holiday party for staff, volunteers and Friends of the Library so that it ends on a high note, so to speak, with everyone moving across the street for the concert.
Camillus First United Methodist Church is located at 12 Genesee St., at the corner of Leroy Street. Maxwell Memorial Library is across Leroy at 14 Genesee St. For more information, call the library at 672-3661 or visit online at maxwellmemoriallibrary.org
