The scholarship recipient will be selected based on academic achievement, involvement in extracurricular activities and/or work experience, a personal statement, two work samples and two letters of reference. The recipient will be invited as an honored guest and will receive the award at the Syracuse Press Club Awards Dinner, Sat., May 15 at Drumlins Country Club in
Syracuse.

In addition, students should submit a copy of the most recent college transcript; a one-page personal statement that explains why journalism was chosen as the area of study and the role that journalism will play in the student’s future; two work samples (print or broadcast quality, and/or
photographs); and two letters of reference from professors, employers, intern sponsors or others who can attest to the student’s qualifications and achievements.
