Level 3 sex offender missing since July

According to Madison County Sheriffs and the probation department, Lawrence J. Austin, 27, has been missing since last July from Oneida.

Austin is a level 3 sex offender, required to report to the NYS sex offender registry for life.

He was convicted in Dec. 2008 of first degree sex abuse for having sexual contact with a 6-year-old girl. Austin served six months in County jail and received 10 years probation.

He was last seen near the five corners intersection in Oneida last July. Sheriffs deputies and probation officers have been unable to locate Austin, and are now asking for the public's help.

Lawrence Austin is a 5-foot-4 white male, 27, with brown hair and blue eyes; weighing approximately 120 pounds.
May possibly be wearing glasses. He is formerly of Utica.
