Edna P. Johnston, 95 Mother of four Edna P. Johnston, 95, of Elbridge, passed away Oct. 19, 2008 in the Van Duyn Home, Syracuse. Mrs. Johnston was born on Dec. 12, 1912 in Decatur, Iowa, the daughter of William and Edna Cox Williams and had worked as a cook on a barge for the New York State Department of Transportation Canal System. Mrs. Johnston was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Wallace Johnston in 2005 and her grandson, Lewis Jerel Johnston in 1992. Surviving are two sons, Haldon Lewis Johnston of Rochester and Jerry (Karen) Johnston of Liverpool; two daughters, Babetta (Robert) Peck of Elbridge and Denise Ann (Robert) Brightman of Auburn; a brother and sister, Milton Marchand and Alberta Delano, both of Phoenix; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Calling hours: None. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Elbridge, Katie Mosier from the Christian Science Church reading. Arrangements: Bush Funeral Home, East Main Street, Elbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Association of CNY Inc., P.O. Box 38, 4915 ½ West Taft Road, Liverpool, NY 13088 in memory of Mrs. Johnston.
