10/22/09 Cronin, Margaret
Margaret Eleanor “Queenie” Cronin, 85, of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday Oct. 22, 2009, at Van Duyn Home & Hospital.  Born in Syracuse on Wednesday April 23, 1924, she was the daughter of William John Driscoll and Genevieve Irene Harvey Driscoll.  A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she graduated from St. Anthony's High School in 1942.  A communicant of Holy Family Church, Queenie retired in 2005 after 31 years working in the parish office.  She previously was employed for 30 years with NY Telephone Co., retiring in 1972.  She was predeceased by her husband, William, in 1974.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Karen Cronin of North Andover, Mass and a large number of nieces and nephews. 
Services were at 12:30 p.m. Monday Oct. 26 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 1 p.m. in Holy Family Church where Rev. Rev. Richard P. Prior Jr., Rev. Robert L. Kelly, Rev. Peter Worn and Deacon Nick Alvaro celebrated a funeral mass.  Calling hours: 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday Oct. 25 at the funeral home.  Queenie was laid to rest in St. Agnes Cemetery, Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vera House, P.O. Box 365, Syracuse, NY 13209 or to Holy Family Food Pantry, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
