10/31/09 Clair, Elva S.
Elva S. Clair, 71, of Fearon Road, Morrisville, passed away peacefully on Saturday Oct. 31, 2009, after a lengthy battle with cancer and respiratory illness.
Elva was born on Sept. 8, 1938, in Oneida, the daughter of Lynn and Nellie Roher.  She married Joseph Clair of Oriskany Falls in 1956.  She had worked 18 years at Quack’s Diner in Madison and eight years for Ames Department Store in Hamilton.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Joseph; her children and their spouses, Charles (Tammy) Clair of Syracuse, Patrick (Robin) Clair of Herando, FL., Beth (Bill) Mettler of Morrisville, Colleen LaMunion and Terry Arnold of Edgewater, FL., Michael (Sherry) Clair of Cockeysville, MD.; her siblings and spouses; Wallace (Norma) Roher of Manlius, Roy (Betty Jean) Roher of Morrisville, Claude (Constance) Roher of Oneida, Ruth Anderson of Nevada, IA., and Ben (Patricia) Roher of Morrisville.  Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive Elva.
She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Herbert Roher and her granddaughter, Heidi Beth Prosser.
A celebration of Elva’s life: 1-4 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 3 at the family home, 5269 Fearon Road, Morrisville, all are invited. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
