10/25/09 Fazekas, Theresa J.
Theresa J. Fazekas, 81, formerly of Durhamville , passed away Sunday morning Oct. 25, 2009, in the Extended Care Facility of the Oneida Healthcare Center, where she has been a resident for the past eight and one half years.
Born in Lowville on Nov. 21, 1927, she was the daughter of Frederick and Mina Smith Evans. A resident of the area since July 1989 moving from Northwestern, Mrs. Fazekas was educated in Lowville schools. She married Albert J. Fazekas in Lowville on Aug. 1, 1945. Mr. Fazekas died on April 9, 2004.
Mrs. Fazekas had owned and operated, with her late husband, a farm in Boonville and spent her time as a homemaker. She had a deep love for her children and grandchildren and considered them her hobby and her life. Mrs. Fazekas was a member of the farm association and was of the Christian faith.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and James Hitchings of Verona and Angela and Edward Hall of Durhamville; one son, Fred E. Fazekas of Vernon; one “daughter”, Kathy Tallman of Deansboro and her children, Margaret and Kyle Kimball and Ronald and Danette Tallman; seven grandchildren, David Clanton and his wife Eileen, Scott Clanton and his wife Karen, Jamie Hitchings, Nicholas Fazekas and his wife Lori, Jeremy Fazekas, Theresa Hall and Amy Hall; three great-grandchildren, Owen, Helenna and Carsyn Clanton; one brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Bertha Evans of Rome and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Evans and Harriet Herrin.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 28 from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida. Interment will be made in Grove Cemetery. Calling hours: 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 27. Contributions, in her memory, may be made to the Extended Care Facility Patient’s Fund, c/o Oneida Healthcare Center Foundation, P.O. Box 705, Oneida, NY 13421 or to Wanderer’s Rest Humane Association, P.O. Box 535, Canastota, NY 13032. Envelopes for these funds may be obtained at the funeral home.
