10/28/09 Danehy, Matilda B.
Matilda B. “Tillie” Danehy, 87 of East Lake Road, Cazenovia passed away Wednesday Oct. 28, 2009, at home. Born in Perryville the daughter of Edmund and Matilda Sullivan Burke, Tillie was a life resident of the Cazenovia area.
Tillie was a third grade teacher in the Cazenovia School District for 30 years retiring in 1980 from the Burton St. School.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Chittenango where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was an avid bowler and a member of the Ladie’s Pitch Club in Chittenango. She was also a member of the NYS Retired Teachers Assoc.
Tillie was predeceased by her husband, James J. in 1979.
Surviving are a son, James J. Danehy Jr. of Cazenovia, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass: 10 a.m. Saturday Oct. 31 in St. Patrick’s Church, Chittenango. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Chittenango. Calling hours: 5-8 p.m. Friday Oct. 30 at the G.F. Zimmer Funeral Home, 702 Legion Drive, Chittenango.
