10/24/09 Goss , George J.
George J. Goss, 79, of Weedsport died Saturday Oct. 24, 2009, in Auburn Memorial Hospital. Born in Sidney, Australia, George lived in New Jersey before moving to the town of Sennett in 2004.
He was a manager with the A & P food stores before retiring. George was an Army veteran of the Korean War.  He was member and past Master of Solomon’s Lodge #46 F&AM in Somerville, NJ. In 1987, he was appointed Secretary to the Grand Master, State of New Jersey. In 1990 he was elected to the board of trustees of the Masonic Charity Foundation of NJ. From 1998 to 2002, George served as the Grand Representative of New Jersey to the Grand Jurisdiction of New South Wales, Australia. He also was a 27 year member of the Masonic Kilties of NJ. and a member of the Scottish Rite in NJ.
Surviving are his wife 54 years Sylvia, daughters Elaine Prishvalko of Auburn and Patricia (Robert) Tankus of Memphis, son Timothy Andrew (Elizabeth) Goss of Clinton, NJ, five grandchildren Erin, Colin, Jonathan, Evan, and Alley.
Private services: Tuesday Oct. 27 at the Bush Funeral Home, Elbridge with the Rev. Dr. James Stone officiating. Masonic services conducted by the Jordan Lodge 386 will follow.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. In recognition of George’s love for animals, contributions may be made to the Finger Lakes SPCA, Auburn.
