10/26/09 Hubbard, Laura
Laura Harris Hubbard, 86, of Norwich, passed away Monday Oct. 26, 2009, at the Community Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, Hamilton.
She was born Aug. 1, 1923 in the town of Masonville, a daughter of Edgar and Elsie Dean Harris and was a graduate of Walton High School. Laura married John H. Hubbard who predeceased her on March 31, 1989. Mrs. Hubbard worked for the C & U Telephone Company (now Frontier) in Norwich until her retirement in 1984. Laura’s greatest joy was her family and she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She and John enjoyed boating and camping. Their travels took them all around the United States and for several years they lived in Zolfo Springs, FL.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Laura DuBois of Poolville; Daniel and Susan DuBois of Sherburne; a daughter, Deborah DuBois of Tiggard, OR; two sisters, Helen Cone of Oxford and Marguerite Froehlich of Earlville; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Evelyn Ford and Verna ManWarren, and two brothers, Millard and Kenneth Harris.
Graveside services: 1 p.m. Thursday Oct. 29 in Mt Hope Cemetery, Norwich.
