11/03/09 Horsman, Ralph V.
Ralph V. Horsman, 97 a resident of the Stonehedge Nursing Home, Chittenango passed away Tuesday Nov. 3, 2009, at Crouse Hospital. Ralph was born in Presque Isle, Maine and was a resident of the Syracuse area 81 years. He was a welder at Carrier Corp. for 35 years retiring in 1977. He was a WWII veteran serving with the U.S. Navy. Ralph was an avid sports fan.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Ellen C., in 1976 and then Ione Daggett in 1996. Surviving are a son, Daniel Horsman of Arizona, three daughters, Suzanne Van Dusen of Tennessee, Mary Horsman of Albany and Eleanor (Larry) Cypher of Chittenango, three grandchildren John VanDusen, Audrey McCann and Stephanie Huntley, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday Nov. 6 at the G.F. Zimmer Funeral Home, 702 Legion Drive, Chittenango. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Stonehedge Nursing Home Activity Fund, 331 Russell St. Chittenango, NY 13037.
