10/21/09 Mayer, Myra
Myra Foster Mayer, 93, formerly of Whitesboro and Verona Beach, died Wednesday Oct. 21, 2009, at the Eastern Star Home, Oriskany where she had been a resident for the past six years.
  Born in Rome, on July 25, 1916, she was the daughter of John S. and Harriet Gurney Baker.  A resident of the Whitesboro area for the past 34 years, moving from Verona Beach, Myra was a graduate of the Oneida High School.  She married Paul T. Foster in Key West,  Fla. on March 17, 1946.  Mr. Foster died on Sept. 1, 1968.  She later married Robert Mayer in Bartlett on September 30, 1978.  Mr. Mayer died on January 20, 2001.
  Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Mayer was employed with the Oneida Savings Bank in the mortgage department.  She was a member of the Bartlett Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Vienna-Vesta Chapter.
  Surviving are one daughter and her husband, LouAnn M. and Michael L. Mossler of South China, Maine; another son-in-law and his wife, Michael S. and Yolanda Devine of Forestport; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert F. and Ruth Baker of Meadeville, Pennsylvania and John S. and Doris Baker of Maywood, Illinois; three grandchildren and their spouses, William and Kim Mossler, Laura and Robert Monarch and Mark and Renee Mossler; four great grandchildren, Alyssa, Anna and Alivia Mossler and B. J. Monarch; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Devine in 1990, two brothers, George C. and James L. Baker and two sisters, Genevieve Wulliez and Nina B. Byers.
  Funeral services: 10 a.m. Monday Oct. 26 from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, with the Reverend Dr. Tom Hast, officiating.  Interment will be made in North Bay Cemetery.  Calling hours: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday Oct. 25 at the funeral home. Contributions, in her memory may be made to the
Bartlett Baptist Church, Bartlett Road, Rome, NY 13440 or the Eastern Star Home, 8290 Route 69, Oriskany, NY 13424. Envelopes for these funds may be obtained at the funeral home.
