10/31/09 Young, Robert M.
Roberta M. (Webb) Young, 82, formerly of Hamilton, passed away Saturday Oct. 31, 2009 at Harding Nursing Home, Waterville. 
She was born on May 4, 1927 in the Town of Madison; she was the eldest of four children of the late Teddy and Florence (Deland) Webb. A lifelong area resident, Roberta graduated from Madison Central School in 1945.  Roberta was united in marriage to Carter B. Young on March 7, 1948 in Corning, NY.  He predeceased her on Sept. 17, 1995.  She worked for many years for the Hamilton Central School System retiring in 1982, when she and Carter became managers of the Madison Lane Apartments until 1994.  Roberta enjoyed sewing, knitting and genealogy. 
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Neil and Cindy (Maust) Young of Henniker, NH, Rob and Gwen (Eiholzer) Young of Cazenovia, a son-in-law, Ross Sluyter of Mohawk, two sisters and brothers-in-law, James and Coralie Friers of Madison, and John and Jani Lou Elliott of Clarkrange, TN, two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Clyde and Stanley Young, and Ruth Wallace, all of Hamilton.  She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, George C. Webb and her daughter, Deborah R. Sluyter.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Thursday Nov. 5 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St. Hamilton. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Hamilton.
Calling hours: 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 4 at the funeral home.  Contributions in Roberta’s name can be made to, the Park United Methodist Church; SOMAC; the American Diabetes Association or one’s favorite charity.
