10/21/09 Cleeton, Carol L.
Carol L. Cleeton, 73, of Syracuse, formerly of Jupiter, Fla., went to meet the Lord on Wednesday Oct. 21, 2009.
Carol was born on Sept. 18, 1936 in North Lawrence, daughter of Kenneth and Olive Simpson. Raised in Potsdam, she graduated from Potsdam High School in 1954 and was married on July 20, 1956.
Carol is survived by her former husband, Walter Cleeton; five daughters Barbara (Joseph) Farino of Onondaga Hill, Colleen (Frank) Garcia of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Stephanie Ritchey of Camillus, Janet (Chris) Williams of Solvay, and Marcia (John) Marris of Syracuse; one son Jeffrey (Sheri) Cleeton of Syracuse, 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters Barbara Woodward of Jupiter, FL, Betty Dismuke of New Bern, NC, Janet Cooke of Kimberling City, MO, and Vivian Vergin of Clayton; three brothers Kenneth Simpson of Ocala, FL, William Simpson of Houston, TX, and Richard Simpson of LasVegas, NV; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, Carol is predeceased by her sister Suzanne Lewis and her brother Keith Simpson.
A private celebration of her life: 3 p.m. Sunday Oct. 25 at her daughter’s home for family and friends, officiated by the Rev. Nancy C. Betz of Clayton. Carol was very loved and her greatest joy was being with family. She will be greatly missed. Please visit traubfh.com for On-Line Guest Book.
