10/22/09 Maravi, Viriginia Louise
Virginia Louise (Mitchell) Maravi, 83, passed on Thursday Oct. 22, 2009, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on June 16, 1926 to Gertrude and Arthur Mitchell of Camp Douglas, WI. She was a graduate of Milwaukee-Downer College in WI. Virginia spent her first married years in Talara, Peru, her husband's home country, and was a resident of Skaneateles since 1975.
She lived her life with a grace and spirituality that was greatly admired. She was an avid, life-long student of history, archaeology, and current affairs. Her greatest joys in life were her family, her cats, and her books. Her family will miss her kindness and love every day, but are comforted in the knowledge that she is now with Jesus.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jose Maravi, her children Annette (Christopher) Dahl of Mukilteo, WA, Renee Maravi of Skaneateles, Daniel Maravi of Skaneateles, and Anthony (Lisa) Maravi of North Syracuse, and her beloved grandchildren Amanda and Sarah Dahl of Mukilteo, WA and Gabriel Maravi of North Syracuse. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caring staffs at Crouse Hospital and Auburn Nursing Home.
Services were Tuesday at Bradley Chapel in Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn. Arrangements by Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles.
