11/02/09 Turner, Rosemary
Rosemary Turner, 85, of 1016 Oatman Drive, Canastota, died peacefully Monday morning Nov. 2, 2009 in her residence, surrounded by her loving family, following a twenty-five year battle with cancer.
She was born on Jan. 24, 1924 in Iaeger, W. VA the oldest of four children born to John and Sallie Larson Garner. She spent her early years in Virginia and West Virginia and attended high school in the Williamsburg, VA schools.
She married Arthur N. “Art” Turner on Oct. 7, 1950 in Beaconsdale, VA and she and her husband moved to Oneida in 1958.
To the hundreds of children and parents who went through Jody Lynn’s School of Dance, you will remember her as “Mrs. T”, the gray haired lady at the desk who ran the show. To her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her siblings she will be remembered as the one who made a bunch of relatives a true and loyal family.  She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by those of us who loved her so very much.
Surviving is her husband Art, a son; William Turner of Madison AL, one daughter and son-in-law; Jody and Scott Bogardus of Wampsville, a grand-son Justin Turner of Munnsville, a grand-daughter; Brittany Bogardus of Wampsville, a great-granddaughter Morgyn Turner of Munnsville, a sister Maxine Emerson of Newport News, VA, a brother and sister-in-law; John and Mary Garner of Jacksonville, FL, a sister and brother-in-law; Sue and Fred Wolford of Vero Beach, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a daughter Sharon Rose Turner and a grandson Scott Bogardus Jr.
At Rosemary’s family’s request there will be no services. Cremation will take place at Chenango Valley Crematorium Earlville. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. 342 Main St. Oneida. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Rd.
