Onondaga County Police Blotter Madison County DeRuyter man charged with DWI A DeRuyter man was charged with aggravated DWI, unsafe backing and other traffic offenses after an accident on Oct. 27 at the DeRuyter Senior Housing Apartments. New York State Police in Morrisville were called to investigate a motor vehicle accident at the apartments on Cortland Street in the village of DeRuyter. The investigation revealed that at about 8 p.m., Kenneth L. Mullenax, 65, a tenant of the apartments was trying to park his vehicle in the apartment parking lot, troopers said. Mullenax drove his 1993 Toyota mini-van up over the sidewalk and struck a parking sign, causing extensive damage to the front of his vehicle... Grossman, 18, of Stonybrook Road, Vernon, was issued an appearance ticket Oct. 16 to appear in Oneida City Court Oct. 30 to answer a charge of unlawful possession of marihuana. Oct. 19 John Q. Means, 40, was arrested Oct. 19 on a charge of failure to register address as required as a sex offender, a class E felony. Madison County Woman passes stopped school bus, charged with DWI Morrisville State Troopers arrested Alison N. Mandriota, 18, of Bayport, on Oct. 9 following a traffic stop on State Route 20 in the village of Morrisville. Mandriota was stopped after she passed a Morrisville-Eaton Central Schools school bus that was stopped and had its red lights activated. Mandriota was charged with driving while intoxicated. She was processed at State Police in Morrisville, where a breath sample of .11 BAC% was obtained. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent, and passing a stopped school bus. Mandriota was released on tickets to appear in the Village of Morrisville Court on Oct. 21... Madison County Madison County Sheriff's blotter Sept. 23 Scott J. Barrett, 44, of Damen Road, Bridgeport, was arrested on charges of criminal tampering in the third degree in the village of Wampsville. Jessica L. Baker, 34, of Chamberlain Road, Lebanon, was arrested Sept. 23 on charges of petit larceny in the town of Morrisville. Randall J. Hutchings, 20, of Knapp Street, Sherburne, was arrested Sept. 23 on charges of driving while intoxicated, speed violation and unreasonable speed and special hazards. Hutchings was arrested at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton. Sept. 24 Roger A. Brocious of Crumb Hill Road, Georgetown, reported a burglary of his residence Sept. 24. Madison County Motorcyclist dies after doing a ‘wheelie’ in Lenox Madison county Undersheriff Doug Bailey reports that deputies are continuing their investigation into a fatal motorcycle-van crash that occurred at about 1:13 p.m. Sept. 19. on New Boston Road in the town of Lenox. The motorcyclist, Joshua P. Smith, 24, of 97 North St., Auburn, was transported to Oneida Healthcare Facility by the Greater Lenox Ambulance Service where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The Canastota Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene, while deputies were assisted at the scene by a New York State Police patrol. Smith was operating a motorcycle in westerly direction on the New Boston Road with a large group, estimated to be in excess of at least 2 to 30 motorcycles... Madison County Oneida Police Blotter Aug. 25 Cesar Montanez, 31, of Main Street, Oneida, was charged Aug. 25 with dog-at-large and allowing a dog to become a nuisance-dangerous dog. Montanez is alleged to own a dog that attacked and bit another person causing injuries. He will appear Sept. 1 at the Oneida City Court Raymond L. Ferguson Jr., 22, of Eddy Road, Canastota, was charged Aug, 25 with endangering the welfare of a child and trespass. Ferguson and a second subject are alleged to have engaged in a verbal dispute in the 200 block of Williams Street around 2:05 p.m. Aug. 25 in which led to a knife being displayed and a victim being chased and threatened. Ferguson is alleged to have chased the victim through backyards with a second suspect that was armed with a knife while children were playing in the backyards... Madison County Man makes threats with knife in Sullivan Madison County Sheriff I. Cary said that deputies reported to a Fyler Road-Kirkville residence in the Town of Sullivan at 3:30 p.m. Sunday Aug. 23 in response to a report of a possible suicidal male armed with a knife. The man is in his 30s, and had reportedly threatened to harm himself and any law enforcement officers that respond. The sheriff’s deputies that were ion scene were assisted by the town of Manlius Police Department and the New York Stat Police. New York state Park Police also provided assistance throughout the call. With the assistance of the Madison county 911 Center dispatchers, communication with the man inside the residence was made possible. Onondaga County Baldwinsville Police blotter Criminal contempt charged On Oct. 30, Baldwinsville Police Officer C. Allen investigated a suspicious vehicle complaint on Mildred Ave. The investigation revealed that Robert J. Scoville, Jr., 20, of 352 County Route 46, Phoenix, was parking his vehicle down the road from a residence where a stay away order of protection was in place. This was done so that police would not suspect he was at that residence. Scoville was located at the residence and was placed under arrest for second-degree criminal contempt. He was arraigned before Jude E. Huling and bail was set at $2,500 cash/bond. Michael P. Omara, 50, of 217 Montrose Ave., Syracuse, was charged Sept... Onondaga County Child endangerment charged On Aug. 25, Officer P. J. Holtman arrested Larry J. Rendel, 38, of 89 E. Genesee St., Baldwinsville and charged him with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment. Police took a complaint from Rendel’s wife stating that while visiting him in his home and while holding their two-year-old daughter, he shoved her nearly causing her to fall down a set of stairs. Rendel was located and arrested. He was arraigned before Judge Huling who released him on his own recognizance to appear Sept. 2. Judge Huling also issued Rendel’s wife an order of protection against Rendel. Child protective was also notified of the incident and will be investigating. Onondaga County Man faces multiple charges At 4:10 p.m. Aug. 6, Baldwinsville Police Officer C. Allen pulled over a vehicle after it failed to yield to an emergency vehicle on Syracuse Street. The driver was identified as Matthew J. Coomey, 30, of 82 Oswego St., Baldwinsville. A DMV inquiry revealed that Coomey’s license was revoked on Sept. 2, 2001 for operating without insurance. Coomey was placed under arrest for third degree aggravated unlicensed operation and transported to the police department where the booking process was completed. Coomey was issued traffic tickets for third degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation, failed to yield to an emergency vehicle and uninspected motor vehicle.
