The conference will convene business leaders and experts on climate change economics, carbon finance, selected emissions sectors, and the carbon sink. Conference working groups will seek to develop actionable recommendations for market incentives and regulatory changes to reduce emissions from two leading source sectors: Buildings & Appliances and Power Generation. The conference also will examine the mitigation roles of land use/forestry management and carbon finance. Participants are expected to produce a slate of possible policy and regulatory options to overcome market and other barriers that are inhibiting implementation of substantial low-cost greenhouse gas emission reductions. Leading sponsors include Syracuse CoE Members National Grid, Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, Honeywell, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, NYS Energy Research Development Authority, NYS Foundation for Science, Technology and Innovation, and the US Green Building Council.
