She began her career in the 1970s as a touring wardrobe assistant and back-up singer for her father, Johnny Cash. Before her own talents carried her to the top of the country charts in the 1980s, her heart was broken by master musician Randy Scruggs, and then she fell in love with a married man, songwriter Rodney Crowell.
Cash and Crowell eventually married, had three kids and divorced in 1992. The year before, she moved from Nashville to New York City where she still lives today...
