Ami Olson 07/26/10More articles
Syracuse police today charged Jeffrey D. Peterson with second-degree murder in the June 26 shooting of Shaheen Bean, 33.

Bean was shot in the leg and the back of the head when Peterson and his wife found him breaking into their home, police said.

Peterson was also charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Syracuse police also identified last night's shooting victim as 18-year-old Jarail Jackson, of Wolcott Avenue in Syracuse. Jackson was shot once in the head and is in critical condition at Upstate hospital.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 442-5222.
