Moose Burger

jbrenneman, Outbursts
The only good thing I can see coming from the nomination of Sarah Palin for VP is the survival of one more moose that might have become victim to her folksy ways. Is it just me or does it seem like a bunch of republicans sat down with a pander checklist and found the one person in the country that fit every point? Call me cynical but it really does seem pretty obvious. The majority of the women in my life are not naive enough to vote for the women just because of her gender. I realize that it might have some impact but in the end people(voters)are smart enough to know when they are being force fed empty calories...

The American Nightmare

jbrenneman, Outbursts
Sometimes it's hard to remember that there are issue in this current political campaign that don't involve Sarah Palin but despite what the talking heads say she is not our biggest concern. If and when this campaign begins to focus on actual issues it would be nice to see someone mention if only briefly the crisis in the housing market and how bailing out fannie and freddie is not going to automatically fix everything. We have to admit that on some level we are all responsible for shopping and spending outside our ability to pay...

Economic Storm of the Century

jbrenneman, Outbursts
Might I suggest that we take all our money and invest in some water proof mattresses. The storms in the south apparently are going to pale in comparison to the size of the coming financial tsunnami. If you have a secret hiding place to put not only your money, but your entire family it's probably a good place to go. There's a song that goes "I'd like to visit the moon, but I wouldn't want to live there!" Recent world events are making the Moon look more attractive each day. Hold on tight and you might survive, with at least the cloths on your back...

Banking and Investment

jbrenneman, Outbursts
After years of living way beyond anyones means the American economy has finally decided to implode and the best advice that I, as a non investor can give is to suggest that everyone buy a big mattress or dig a real deep hole and before every penny you have ever earned disappears hide it away...

Main Street Meltdown

jbrenneman, Outbursts
The most important thing to remember in a time of crisis is to not panic. Of course if the leader of the free world and his merry men are all on the verge of breakdowns and don't appear to have any type of solution other than to put the the blame on everyone except themselves then perhaps it is time to do exactly that. We have a long history of overcoming adversity in this country, but if the people who we have at the wheel have no idea how to drive it's begining to look like we have no other alternative than to crash. I have faith in the American people that we will survive despite what our government does or does not do...
