I'm going to let you in on a little industry secret: Major media companies, especially metropolitan daily newspapers and television stations, are struggling. Newspapers can't keep readers and almost nobody turns to network television for their news anymore. Media types are quick to point a finger at the Internet, saying the immediacy of the web and the unregulated nature of blogs is stealing news junkies who used to get their fixes from the paper or TV.
Those fingers need to be pointed in the opposite direction.
It isn't the Internet's fault that online news is better...
