The power of your dollar.

I watch a lot of podcasts lately -- mostly about technology -- and there's been a lot about ISPs in Europe being forced to patrol what their users are downloading. In several countries, legislation is pending that would ensure that if something is "illegally" downloaded, the ISP would be forced to deny Internet access to the user.

Though I think capitalism is the greatest economic system on Earth, I'm a huge proponent of making intellectual property freely shared.

The thing is, software developers, film studios and the recording industry have been given way too much power over what we watch, what we listen to and what software we use. And if you want a piece of software -- like Adobe CS3 -- you have to be prepared to spend $1400 on it. That's robbery...
